SAVE THE NATIVE FOREST

Nomadic lifestyle

They used to live as nomads, staying at some spot for a while and then move on. They have chacras (gardens) where they plant yuca, platano, sometimes corn. So they had these gardens around the forest and once a years (or few years) they come back to the same place. For example if they plant yuca it will take sometimes half a year or 8 months to grow. When they needed a new spot, they found a spot where the food was waiting for them.
Most Huaoranis in the bigger villages now stay in the same place, but some families still move once every few years. The Tagaeris and the Taromenanes are still moving around, like the Huaoranis used to do as well.
